ABOUT US

We are a boutique technical marketing consultancy based in central Missouri.

What we do

We provide marketing strategy and creative services for science and technology (STEM) businesses. Our core strengths are messaging and content development.

Who we work with

Science and technology (STEM) businesses

Businesses with a science, technology, or engineering focus make up the lion’s share of our client relationships. It’s not a strict rule, but it is our sweet spot and the foundation for much of our experience.

A few industries we’ve served

  • Semiconductors (lithography and packaging)

  • Technical glass and ceramics

  • Medical devices

  • Electrical engineering (magnetic components)

  • Genomics and bioinformatics

  • STEM-focused higher education

Are you a good fit?

We are more likely to be a good fit for each other if you are comfortable with lean product development. Basically, this means finding what works and building through continuous improvement rather than going all-in on a single unproven idea.

It also helps to have a healthy marketing budget and decision-making latitude in the organization.

What about non-technical businesses?

Sometimes we work with clients that are completely outside the STEM niche to help bring fresh ideas and experience to the table — a local cocktail bar, or a non-profit foundation, for example. Sometimes our non-fluffy approach to marketing is a welcome contrast to what they would normally get from other agencies.

“Andrew has been great to work with over the years. He always delivers quality work with little direction.”

How we work

Lean and scalable

We partner with other consultants, creative professionals, and agencies depending on the nature of the project and client needs.

Message-first

Your messaging is the most crucial marketing asset in your portfolio. If customers don’t understand your value proposition, it will be much harder to close sales at an equitable price point.

We focus on the message first because it informs every other piece of the marketing strategy. When the message is right, everything else falls into place.

Continuous improvement

We follow the same principles found in lean product development. Years of experience have taught us it’s better to put something out into the world and get feedback than to wait for “perfection.” We build on what we learn and apply it to the next step.

One brick at a time

Rome wasn’t built in a day, and your marketing program doesn’t have to be either. It is far better to build on a small but consistent marketing program than a big flash that burns out after a month.

Too many agencies want to take you from zero to 100 overnight without understanding your business. We get it; they have a lot of mouths to feed. We make sure that when it’s time to bring in the big guns, they are aimed in the right direction.
